12 Months

19 pounds 7 ounces
29 inches

At the beginning he was gaining weight like crazy, so I thought he was going to be a big boy.

And maybe he will be.

But for now, he's little.

Like only wears a size 2 infant shoe little.

I think Adam wore that size at 2 weeks.

And until he hits that 20-pound mark, he's still in an infant carseat and turned around to the back.

On a positive note, I haven't had to buy a convertible carseat yet. ;)

He was not having his 12 month pics on the day they were taken, and unfortunately, these are the best.

A little bit about Josh at 12 months:

- his first word was "Mama"... fitting for my Mama's boy
- his favorite foods are pizza and apples
- he will pretty much eat anything, though... not too picky
- we made it 12 months with nursing! I am so happy!
- he is a climber. He climbs on everything.
- he is still not sleeping well. We're working on it.
- he loves throwing balls. He's got a pretty good arm, too.
- he loves cars. He could drive his toy cars forever.

This year has been... incredible. Impossible. Full of happy tears. Full of I'm-going-crazy-tears. Messes. More mess than I've ever allowed in my house. Chubby baby feet and cheeks. Sweet first smiles. Happy baby laughs. Screaming baby cries. Learning. Faith. Schedules out the window. Schedules slowly brought back in. Lots of laundry. So much laundry. Lots of peanut butter and honey sandwiches when I couldn't get dinner done. Not very much sleep. Fighting. Struggling. Munching and kissing and inhaling his sweet baby smell. Soft baby skin. Sweet baby boy clothes.

A little boy who made all of the hard parts so worth it.

I could squeeze and love on him for a million years and it wouldn't be enough.

Every single difficult part during the pregnancy, delivery, and this past year has been so worth it. I'm so grateful that Heavenly Father knows and loves me. Because I just love my little Josh so much.

Happy 12 months, baby boy! I couldn't love you more!

He IS just the most sweet and wonderful little BIG blessing in all of our lives. And aren't you glad he saves those sweet smiles for special times...when he sees his mommy and daddy, when he is playing with Adam, or when Grace is singing to him...or when he helps Grammy empty the dishwasher! Oh, Joshy...happy birthday, and we are all so very glad Heavenly Father blessed all of us...with YOU!
