Happy 8th Birthday, Adam!

Today we celebrated Adam's 8th birthday! We kept it pretty low-key, because he's having a friend birthday party on Saturday. We still had a great day celebrating him, though!

He woke up to French toast and bacon for breakfast. He was so surprised that I made him breakfast!

(Due to the recent fire, I decided to go with bacon that was pre-cooked. But, I did get up early to nuke it and make the French toast, so it still counts).

It was "Career Day" for Spirit Week at his school. He wants to be a Cardinals football player. Or a CSI.

It depends on the day.

;)

At the end of the school day, Grace, Josh, and I brought down cupcakes. He was SO happy that school was still in session when it was his birthday, so that he could finally have treats at school!

Tonight, we had the dinner he requested: Mike's grilled burgers and watermelon. We sang, at some more cupcakes, and opened presents. He got The 39 Clues Book #11 from Grandma and Grandpa W*. He got some ice cream from Grace (that she bought with her own money... so cute!). From us, he got MarioKart and a Star Wars chess set that Mike found at D.I.

Chess.

Star Wars.

Star Wars Chess. It has to be the ultimate nerd activity on the planet.

;)

We all love Adam so much! Happy 8th Birthday, Adam! It's going to be a great year!
