Thanksgiving Table Runner

Last year I saw this Thanksgiving countdown:

I LOVED it and wanted to make one. I thought that it would be fun for Grace and I to make together while Josh napped. I even went as far as buying the material cheap on Ebay.

And then Josh stopped being a good napper.

So it sat nicely in my closet for 9 months.

As the end of October (this year) neared, I remembered our cute advent calendar plans, and realized that if I hadn't got it done in 9 months, I probably wasn't going to get it done in a little over a week.

Magically, we received our Christmas present from Mom and Dad W* in the mail just a few days later.

It was a Thanksgiving countdown!

And it's SO much cuter than mine would have been! I LOVE it!

We love it so much and are already having fun counting down to Thanksgiving (we're going through the 12 days twice).

I wanted to do something with the material I had bought, though, so I whipped up this table runner:

Just kidding.

I didn't really whip it up.

I've always just wanted to say that.

It took me several nights of hard work to get it done.

;)

I love it AND it's significant because it's the first quilting project that I've actually FINISHED!

It gives me so much hope for the other quilt tops sitting in my closet which need to be backed, quilted, and bound.

Someday, cute quilt tops, someday.

I love our new Thanksgiving decorations!

That is such a great idea to go through the 12 days twice. Wish I had thought of it.
