Every year I make Grace a dress for her birthday.
First birthday dress:
Second birthday dress:
Third birthday dress:
She's going to be 4 soon.
Which means that she needs a new birthday dress.
And thanks to my new sewing desk (whatever, Adam, it's mine ;) ), I was able to work on it, and over several days finish it.
Voila!
I LOVE how it turned out, and so does Grace.
When I showed it to Mike, however, he started laughing.
And asked if she would be making tortillas and frijoles in it.
Because it slightly resembles the beautiful Mexican dresses that my friend wears.
And because he's rude enough to laugh at a dress that I've worked for days on. ;)
Comments from my silly husband aside, I am happy with it! Not happy that my baby girl is going to be 4 soon, though.

Absolutely so cute! And, you know, I can really see the great progress you make with each dress...You are truly becoming a great seamstress. Now, when Gracie turns 16, I have a pattern for a gown with yards and yards of tulle....
I love the colors and combination of fabrics! Great job Allison. Grace, you look so cute! Shame on you Michael....
Alison it is so cute. She looks so beautiful in it. Its also a great base pattern. If you had time you could make another one but leave the ruffles off the sleeves and do a ruffle at the bottom.
Sooo cute! I love the colors and what a cute style! I can't believe she's going to be 4 --- that's crazy!
She looks so cute in that dress! You did a great job!
What do husbands know about cute, homemade dresses anyway? That dress is so fun! Good job.
